Vapour Barriers to Protect Against the Elements
 |
Groupe Lefebvre MRP Inc. is recognized within the industry for its expertise in the field of waterproofing techniques. We offer a wide selection of membrane applications, depending upon your project requirements. Our firm is regarded as one of the most important waterproofing specialists in Quebec and across Canada. Our American subsidiary, Venture Construction, services the US market. |
Membranes
1) Membranes on Bridges and Viaducts (Civil Engineering)
These prefabricated membranes are applied on bridges and viaducts, using a mechanical process.
- Elastomeric Bitumin (liquid or rolls)
- Methyl Methacrylate
2) Membranes for Commercial and Institutional Buildings
 |
Over the years, Groupe Lefebvre has acquired considerable expertise in the application of diverse waterproofing methods ideal for : |
- foundations and subterranean roofs
- foundations prior to concrete pours
- sheet-pile walls
- hard rock surfaces
- containment systems
- green roofs
- rooftop terraces
Most common types of membranes used :
- Bentonite
- Hot-applied Rubberized Asphalt
- Prefabricated Rolls
- Bituminous Coating
- Cold-applied
- Self-adhesive
- Crystallized Coating
- Polyurethane / Epoxy
- Sealant
- Root Barrier
3) Membranes for the Industrial Sector
We apply an extensive range of products to waterproof and protect concrete and steel structures against chemical infiltration.
Types of Applications :
- Protective membranes
- Linings for reservoirs & tanks
- Acid-resistant floors & surface coverings
Injection
Our injection techniques eliminate water leakage by sealing all cracks and, in certain instances, restore concrete to its original structural capabilities. This technology is used in the repair and rehabilitation of dams, basins, reservoirs, foundation walls, etc.
Techniques :
- Epoxy
- Urethane
- Microcement
- Cementitious Grout
Sealants and Coatings
Different types of products are applied to protect concrete against salts and other chemical derivatives. These products greatly reduce the penetration of chloride ions while permitting the concrete to breathe. This preventive measure also serves to improve the visual aspect of a structure, since surface coatings may be coloured. Many such projects have been executed for the Ministry of Transport of Quebec.
Protection :
- Silane
- Siloxirane
- Corrosion Inhibitor
- Surface Coating
Expansion Joints
 |
Due to the expansion and dilation characteristics of concrete slabs or walls, a supple material, resistant to movement, is required. To ensure a watertight seal, material elasticity is an essential factor. |
Types of Joints :
- Jeene Joints
- Viscoelastic Joints
- Mechanical Expansion Joints
